MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTGimbel Eye Centre requires a Laser Suite Receptionist. Primary responsibilities include greeting patients, pulling and filing charts, maintaining an efficient patient flow, answering general questions and computer data entry. Applicants must be computer-familiar. The successful candidate will present a positive and professional image as well as possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIANPreference will be given to a COA, COT or COMT, but we are willing to train a bright, career-oriented individual through our apprentice-like program. Responsibilities include clinical testing of pre and post-operative ophthalmic surgical patients. To ensure success in this role, candidates must enjoy technical work, have exceptional interpersonal skills, be computer literate with 45 wpm and be flexible in a dynamic environment. OPHTHALMIC COUNSELLOR & CALL CENTRE ATTENDANTThis career opportunity is well suited to a bright, professional and personable individual with a keen interest in patient service and care. The Ophthalmic Counsellor requires a keen interest in educating/conversing with patients in terms of surgical options, techniques and fees (via phone & in person). The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling appointments, completing medical forms, data entry via our computer's customized software and liaison between the surgeon and the patient. To ensure success in this role, applicants must have superb communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The prevailing candidate will be a team player, computer familiar and type a minimum 45 wpm. Candidates with previous ophthalmology, counselling, marketing, and/or medical experience will be given preference. Training is provided, although related post-secondary education is an asset.
