IN PERSON is still the best way to learn about what might be YOUR best options for vision correction. Call us to make an appointment for a personalized exam and assessment. You do NOT need a referral to book an appointment, and we will always be happy to collaborate with your primary eye provider. Call us to discuss your questions and your next steps. We look forward to working together to help you come to your own decision about vision correction options that work for you.

Vision Correction Options

Gimbel Eye Centre offers the full range of vision correction surgeries. Although you may think you would prefer one option over another, our highly trained doctors will suggest options that are most suited to your needs.

Implantable Corrective Lenses (ICL)

Many patients are not aware of ICL, but this option offers many advantages over other forms of vision correction surgery. Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)

This option is often recommended to more mature patients who may be showing signs of developing cataracts (when the eye lens becomes cloudy). It eliminates the need for cataract surgery in the future, recovery is very fast, and the cornea is not altered. More…

This option is often recommended for patients with astigmatism –  an irregular eye shape that causes problems with your ability to focus. More…

This is perhaps the most well-known of the vision correction surgeries. Visual recovery is usually rapid. Within one or two days, most patients see clearly with minimal side effects. Most patients experience little or no discomfort following surgery and vision generally stabilizes within one month. More…

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)

PRK is another form of laser surgery. It is the simplest and most straightforward surgery option, but it requires a longer healing time. Patients can see immediately after the surgery, but not clearly. It takes up to five to seven days for patients to have good vision. More…

Enhancements

While the need for enhancements after the initial surgery is rare, if you are not fully satisfied with your results within 18 months of your surgery, you may be a candidate for enhancement surgery. More…
